Bestselling authors Ellie Crowe and Scott Peters tackle Renaissance England's imprisonment of Princess Elizabeth in the Tower of London in this latest installment of the trailblazing I Escaped series.

Orphaned coal-boy Ben is delivering coal to the Tower of London Prison when he sees something shocking: Princess Elizabeth is in jail! Ben is alarmed when she begs him for help. He wants to, but when can he do? He's a kid. He's no knight in shining armor. The Tower's dark dungeons are filled with rats, and the ghost of Anne Boleyn patrols the corridors at night. But he decides to risk his life and help her.

Danger lurks at every turn in the Tower's maze-like halls and twisting stairwells. When triumph seems at hand, Beefeater guards catch Ben and throw him behind bars. Can Ben scale the fortress walls and swing across the putrid moat? Or is he doomed to join the ghosts of prisoners past in the Tower's darkest depths? Can Ben survive disaster?
